Oak Lawn Park District and Musco Serve Up Sports Lighting for the Next Generation

The Challenge

For 25 years, athletes of all ages and abilities have enjoyed the lighted tennis courts at Sullivan, Memorial, and Lakeshore parks in the Oak Lawn Park District of Oak Lawn, Illinois. When the Oak Lawn Park District decided it was time to replace its existing lighting with state-of-the-art LED technology, they wanted a solution that would enhance the playing experience for current and future generations while taking advantage of the other benefits a quality LED system can provide.

The Solution

Musgrove Engineering recommended partnering with Musco Lighting for a turnkey solution that would provide all the desired features on budget and within the district’s tight timeline. Project leaders chose to retrofit Ravsten Stadium with a new TLC for LED® system that includes Idaho’s first ever Show-Light® special effects package. The Dark Sky-compliant system directs controlled light onto the playing field while preserving darkness around the facility, and color changing RGB accent lighting allows the stadium to be customized for each team that calls it home. Individual fixtures can be synced to music with the Show-Light package for unforgettable light shows, and every part and all labor on the system is backed by Musco’s long-term warranty.
